Residence Design

Residence embodies the spirit of contemporary design in the use of shape as it spills out on a hill overlooking Mulholland Scenic Parkway. The house is built in small pods creating separation as you move from room to room. Each pod has a distinct rectangular shape where lines are clean and well defined. Privacy is difficult in the Los Angeles area and herein the design helps create that separation. Outdoor spaces are aligned with indoor spaces as you can see from the dining room picture. There are sliding doors that create an opening to a patio to let the California weather become part of the dining experience.

Interior Design in White

The home is of modern design and measures 12,000 square feet. It sits on Biscayne Bay which is a prime real estate location for anyone living in the Miami area. The Biscayne Bay area is a most exclusive area in Florida where many stars have homes. The bay area is protected by a peninsula and yet has access to the Atlantic Ocean for yachts and large sailboats. My impression in looking at the pictures is the home owner's fascination with using white as the primary color for the home's interior design. I can't say that I have seen its use as much as I have in this property. Having lived in the Miami area for two years I can tell you that white is a popular color in both house design and home furnishings.

Focus Suspended Modern Fireplaces

I have seen all of the newest modern fireplaces on the market today but some of my favorites have been around for quite a long time. The Gyrofocus was the first in a series of rotating, suspended fireplaces, and is a classic Focus design that is as relevant today as at the time of its creation by Dominique Imbert in 1968. The Gyrofocus can rotate 360º and offers exceptional heat efficiency. It features a custom made flue for ease of installation and has been exhibited in the Guggenheim Museum, in New York, The Bordeaux Modern Art Museum, and the Grenoble Modern Art Centre. Modern Lounge Seating

Loginoff of Moscow has a creative approach to modern seating as well as several areas of interior design. The young designer won a Design Debut Award for the Bone Lounge shown here, which is actually a compilation of many slightly different panels that when attached make a two sided modern bench style lounge. Also shown is Loginoff's C Lounge that takes on a smooth organic shape which has many faces depending on color and exterior texture. This is a great example of the bold and unusual furniture design by Dima Loginoff that I am sure will be expounded upon in years to come. See the entire collection
